Research shows Americans love fall above all other seasons. When ValuePenguin asked 1,600 Americans about fall and their Halloween plans, “45% named fall as their favorite season.” Fall is also known as autumn in European countries. The word fall originated in the phrase the fall of the leaf, in reference to the time of year when deciduous trees shed their leaves. I believe fall is the best season because during fall nature is at its most beautiful and there are a lot of celebrations.
One reason why fall is the best season is that nature during fall includes the change of color of leaves and creating beautiful landscapes of red, orange and yellow hues. People decorate their houses with pumpkins, gourds, and pinecones. The days become shorter, and the temperature drops as nature prepares for the winter ahead. This shows that fall is the best season because we are able to enjoy and admire the beauty of nature.

There are a lot of events during fall. Each of these special events can be celebrated with gatherings and parties that really make the event more special. These fall events include: Oktoberfest, Thanksgiving, Halloween and Day of the Dead.
On Halloween, the traditions originated with the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, when people would light bonfires and wear costumes to ward off ghosts. It is celebrated by activities such as trick or treating, attending Halloween costume parties, carving pumpkins or turnips into jack-o’-lanterns and lighting bonfires. According to Statista, “there are around 70% of people in the United States (US) who are participating in the Halloween celebration in 2023.” This shows the excitement of people during the Halloween season.
Additionally, Thanksgiving is celebrated as an annual holiday in the US and Canada, celebrating the harvest and other blessings of the past year. On this day, families and friends gather for a meal and other celebrations. Traditional fare in America includes turkey, cranberries and pumpkin pie. Parades and football games also have a long association with Thanksgiving. According to the leading consumer intelligence company (NIQ), “Thanksgiving is the second-most popular holiday in the US after Christmas, with around 83% of people celebrating it.” This proves that fall is the best season because it includes lots of celebrations which bring people together.

In conclusion, fall is a delightful season that brings out people together. It offers a chance to celebrate the beauty of nature while providing a platform for fun activities and attractions. So, go ahead and enjoy the season!
