Despite the name, Singing Club was very quiet in its earliest days. Barely anyone showed up to the first few meetings. As of recent, the club has seen significant growth in popularity. On Friday, Sept. 8th, the number of students attending the club’s meeting during lunch had doubled. This was due to a promotion by the club’s president, Abby M, via an online platform for students of Westlake Charter High School (WCHS) run completely by students.

 

“It goes to show just how many singers there are on campus,” Ms. Odell, the advisor of Singing Club, stated, “and how Singing Club is the only outlet for them. Hopefully, we’ll be able to run larger events, like a musical.” The club meets every Friday during lunch in Ms. Odell’s room.
